Unit Converter — Privacy Policy

This policy covers the mobile app Unit Converter on iOS (App Store) and Unit Converter AWG on Android (Google Play), both published by Tillman Konsult AB.

1. Summary

• We do not run any analytics, crash-reporting, or behavioural-tracking service of our own.
• Your conversion history and preferences are stored only on your device — nothing is uploaded to us.
• Both the iOS and Android versions show ads via Google AdMob when you are not a Premium subscriber. On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asks for your permission before AdMob can personalise ads with your device advertising ID. In the EEA / UK / CH, Google's consent dialog additionally asks you to accept or decline personalised advertising.
• Subscribing to Premium removes all ads immediately.
• Subscriptions are handled by RevenueCat on top of Apple App Store / Google Play. We receive purchase status only — not your name, email, card or billing address.

2. Data we process on your device only

• Your saved conversions and favourites.
• Language preference (English / Swedish).
• Cached exchange rates from public rate endpoints.

This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling the app deletes it.

3. Third-party services

3.1 RevenueCat (subscription management) — iOS and Android

When you purchase or restore the optional Premium subscription, Apple or Google passes the transaction to RevenueCat, which tells our app whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user ID generated on first launch, purchase receipts, and basic device/OS info needed to validate the purchase.

No analytics identifier (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android) is shared with RevenueCat. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

3.2 Google AdMob (advertising) — iOS and Android

When you are not a Premium subscriber, the app shows ads served by Google AdMob:

• An adaptive banner at the bottom of the category list.
• A full-screen interstitial after every third category tap.

AdMob may process:

• Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS / AAID on Android) — only if you grant permission.
• Coarse / approximate location derived from your IP address.
• Device model, OS version, and general connection info.
• Which ads you have been shown, clicked, or skipped.

iOS — App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

On first launch the app shows Apple's standard tracking-permission prompt. If you Ask App Not To Track, AdMob will serve only non-personalised ads and your IDFA will not be shared. You can change this any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Unit Converter, or turn off tracking for all apps with Allow Apps to Request to Track.

EEA / UK / Switzerland — Google UMP consent

In addition to the iOS ATT prompt, EU/UK/CH users see Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form on first launch. You may accept personalised ads, choose non-personalised ads, or manage your preferences later. Ads are not requested until your choice is recorded.

Outside these regions, AdMob serves ads under Google's default privacy terms.

3.3 Exchange-rate endpoints

The Currency converter fetches rates from publicly available endpoints (open.er-api.com, exchangerate.host, api.frankfurter.app). No user identifier is sent. Responses are cached on your device for up to one hour.

3.4 App stores

Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android) process the app download, purchase, and refund flow according to their own privacy policies.

4. Ads — your choices

• iOS (any region): Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Unit Converter — toggle off to stop personalised ads and IDFA sharing.
• EEA / UK / CH: Use Premium tab → "Manage ad privacy options" inside the app to change your Google UMP consent any time.
• Android (any region): System Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID stops apps from using a persistent ad ID.
• All regions: Subscribing to Premium removes ads entirely. Ad requests stop as soon as your subscription is active.

5. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU, UK, or another GDPR-equivalent region, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Because we store no personal data on our servers, most such requests resolve by:

• Clearing saved conversions in the app.
• Uninstalling the app, which removes all local data.
• Contacting Apple or Google to delete your purchase history on their side.
• Contacting us about anything RevenueCat may hold linked to your anonymous user ID.

7. Data retention

On-device data is kept until you clear it or uninstall. Purchase records held by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat are retained under their own policies, typically as long as required for tax and refund purposes.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version.
